Help to Configure Card

Hi All, I tried to configure the card via HACS. But I'm not able to do that. Could you help me?

So you installed the card via HACS, tried to configure it but it doesn't work? Have you tried to reboot Home Assistant? I have noticed that after installing some of the plugins via HACS, you need to reboot before you can access the card.

Do you have the LuxpowerTek integration or are you using the card with another inverter system?
What have you tried so far and what errors are you getting or what isn't working?

I'm happy to help. In future when asking for help, please provide some info as to what you did, what you expected and what you got that wasn't expected. That will really help narrow down the issue

I downloaded the via HACS lux-power-integration-card. Then I rebooted the HA.

After that I go on my dashboard and click add panel, search for entity and find LuxPower. How can I configure the card?

What integration are you using to get the values that you want to display on the card? Is it the integration made by Guy Wells, or another integration for LuxPower, or another inverter?

1. Go to the card's README here. Copy the example config.
2. On home assistant, choose add card.
3. scroll to the bottom and look for an option called "manual"
4. Replace everything the is in the editor when you choose to manually add a card, with the config you copied

Hi I use the integration that I find in this hither page, it called lux-power-distribution-card. I tried to add the example config, I received this error invalid entity: sensors.lux_status

Sorry! I think I resolved the issue.

I show the card correct but have undefined for all of the value. I think that the site of LuxPower is offline now. I can't reach the information even by the app. I'm waiting tomorrow morning to see if it's works. Thanks a lot for the patience

Hi. Based on how you answered my questions, it looks to me like you might be new to Home Assistant and the terms? So let's just make sure we are on the same page with everything and then I can help you get everything up and running?

Let's start with integrations. There are 2 ways you can add new integrations: built in integrations (Settings->Devices & services->add integration) and with HACS (HACS->Integrations->Explore & download repositories). The integrations are the thing that connects home assistant to other devices or services outside of HA. You need an integration to get the data from your LuxPower inverter, into HA. You can contact Guy Wells here to ask if you can use his integration for connecting your LuxPower to your HA.

After you have the integration up and running, you will have values in HA that you can display on your dashboard or do automations with them.

The card I made, is a dashboard widget and not an integration. Cards or widgets only display data that is available in HA (Think of the gauge or plot graphs you can add to your dashboard), they don't generate or retrieve any data from an outside source. That is where the integration is required.

lux-power-distribution-card is just a card that uses integrations to show the data. That means that it takes data that is in HA, and displays it on your dashboard. This card doesn't communicate with LuxPower directly. The card doesn't even need a LuxPower inverter to work, it just needs entities and values. Each of the items in the configuration, tells what it does and any entity you add in there, will be used to display on the card. (The entities are provided by the integration)
For example, battery SOC. Any entity that records a battery SOC can be used on my card and it will display that SOC on the card. The reason for this is then the card works with many different integrations, as long as you configure it. The config on my README, is just and example that is specific to the integration provided by Guy Wells. If you don't have that integration, the states don't exist and the card won't work.

Thank you very much for the explanation! You know well, I'm new on HA dashboard and system.

Anyway I understand what do you mean. Yesterday I wrote to Guy Wells and he invited me on the private project in GitHub.

I connected the LuxPower inverter with the integration and I can see the data on my HA from the inverter. I tried to configure another time your card and it works well as I expect. Thank you for your work, your assistance here and your patience!
