The nickname is used maybe nowhere, so setting it has barely any (maybe no) effect. On the other hand, I don't think it should be used. They can be set to anything and are not even unique. Using them will only result in confusion and deceit. I suggest we remove them entirely, from both the model, forms and views, then maybe re-add them, enforce their allowed content (e.g. different case letters of the username), and start using them. As a temporary means, I suggest we remove them from forms and views but keep them in the model, since right now their only function is to confuse users.
