Sea of Galilee. A large body of freshwater east of the territory of Galilee, in northern Israel, through which the Jordan River flows and where Jesus walked on water (Matthew 14:22–33; Mark 6:45–52; John 6:16–21). Other forms include: Chinneroth, Kinnereth Sea, Sea of Chinnereth, Sea of Chinneroth, Sea of Kinnereth, Sea of Tiberias, Tiberias. Sea of Galilee is also referred to as: Sea of Tiberias.
