Mount Ebal. A mountain north of Shechem where the Israelites pronounced curses (Deuteronomy 11:29); often associated with Mount Gerizim to the south. Other forms include: Ebal, Mount Ephraim, Mount Zalmon, Zalmon. Mount Ebal is also referred to as: Hill Country of Ephraim, Zalmon, Mount Zalmon.
