Image Block: Large images extend beyond the visual area of the editor #49690

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Create a new page or post
  2. Add an image block and add an image that is wider than the width of the viewable area
  3. In the image block image size settings, select Large or Full Size
  4. In the image block dimensions, choose 100%

What I expected to happen

I expect the image to extend to 100% of the visual editor window

What actually happened

The image extends beyond the visible window

The images do not exceed the content window on the live page. This happens on both Atomic and Simple and on multiple themes.

I'm updating this, then closing it. I tested on a self-hosted site and it is a core issue which has already been reported here:

WordPress/gutenberg#26715
