As raised by @jeherve, Jetpack typically shows an icon next to external links to indicate to users that it will navigate off-site.

Jeremy has helpfully provided an SVG for us to use. It's probably easiest to add that as a standalone svg file in our assets/static directory for now as a standalone SVG file.
