I your code you check if the TAG is specified but for some reason it is never false. Therefore, when it is not specified it sends a weird tag to github and github send back an error

Can you send me your test case and your github workflow ? also, I don't know if I need to keep this Github Action especially that Github API doesn't allow to push to protected branches anymore. I will need to test if they fixed the issue#2132.
