Currently, the "High DPI" option in the Graphics preferences only changes in-game resolution and does not change the appearance of the UI outside of the game (the main menu and dialogs). In part, this is due to a lack of HiDPI image resources, but apparently the underlying problem is that the code does not support resources with variable/multiple pixel densities, or even UI elements meant for higher resolutions than 640x480. So this is a ticket about the combination of code/fonts/UI images that would be required for presenting a high-res UI to the user.
