Cool project ! Here's a Homebrew formula for the OSX users among us: https://gist.github.com/zimbatm/4727240

Once you make a stable release we can submit it to the official project too.

Thanks!

When I have a stable release (hopefully soon), submitting it to Homebrew would be great.

Before seeing this, I submitted a pull request here: Homebrew/legacy-homebrew#17649. Would be great to have a new tagged version. Personally I think it would be alright even if not 100% stable since stability shouldn't really be expected with version numbers in the 0.x range.

Good point @michaelmior - I just released a 0.2 tag.

Thanks (and thank you for git-crypt)! Just updated my pull request, so hopefully that will be good to merge now :)

A formula based on the new 0.2 tag has landed. Thanks for adding it @AGWA :) This can be closed now if no one has any issues with the current version.

Homebrew formula seems to work great - just installed using it without issue.

I just released a new tagged release, 0.3, which most notably fixes git-crypt init when used with recent versions of Git. @michaelmior, would you be able to make a new formula for it? Thanks!

Sure thing. Hopefully just requires updating the tag. Will do it right now.

Submitted a pull request. Will update here once merged.

The new formula with the 0.3 tag has been merged :)

Thanks @michaelmior! 😄

Using this just now, it seems the homebrew formula is out of date. @michaelmior can you update it?

@burlesona Unfortunately I don't have access to a Mac anymore to test. It should be fairly easy to update yourself though. You should just have to update the URL to the download and the SHA1 of the tarball in this file. If you send a PR with those changes, it will likely get merged pretty quickly.

I've submitted a pull request to Homebrew to update the git-crypt formula to the just-released 0.4: Homebrew/legacy-homebrew#34247
