Updates from last week ✔

• We can now dynamically select which terraform backend to use Add backend configs for terraform remote state storage infrastructure#561
• A cluster is now live in the Pangeo Google project with private nodes! 🙌🏻 Enabling private nodes for GKE clusters infrastructure#538
• Our hub deployment CI now runs as a matrix to avoid multiple, repetitive workflow files Use a matrix job to deploy our hubs infrastructure#582

What I'm up to next ➡️

• Allowing GitHub teams to be used in authentication for JupyterHub [GitHub] Add syntax to allow specific teams in a GitHub organization jupyterhub/oauthenticator#449 This will help simplify Pangeo's authentication process
• Deploying a staging hub for Pangeo to the new cluster New Hub: Pangeo JupyterHub (GCP) infrastructure#482
• I also have a few ideas around our hub health check which I may play wit as I work on the above Safely providing logging output from failed hub health checks infrastructure#585

• I spent time finishing up the OceanHackWeek Hub, deploying changes and features as needed
• I worked on the team process evolution with other members of the team

What I'm up to next ➡️

• Work with @sean-morris on finishing up Support pulling from Google Drive or Dropbox for nbgitpuller upstream#32. This week is his last full time (before he goes back to teaching highschool 50%), so let's make good use of it
• Work on team policy for merging and reviewing PRs (Team policy for Merging and Review  #175)
• Make progress on moving CarbonPlan dask workers to spot instances Carbonplan: Provide service account for dask workers and notebook pods infrastructure#492

My availability for next week

• There is a lot of churn an uncertainity in my living situation so I'll be a bit off and on. Should be able to make all my meetings though.
• Today is the last week before UC Berkeley fall semester starts, so a bunch of work needs to be done there. I'll spend probably 50% of my time doing that.

• I spent time catching up on a lot of stuff that accumulated during my time off (you probably saw some belated comments, sorry about that!)
• I spent time on admin stuff (making slow progress, but it is going forward 😉 ).
• I attended the monthly EBP meeting

What I'm up to next ➡️

• There is still some PR merged I need to look at and understand (the latest stuff on the pangeo deployment and the azure stuff). Expect some more belated comments/questions from me 😉
• Pushing on the team processes stuff as far as we can
• More admin stuff (because it is fun, isn't it? 🤦 )
• Pushing on the blog post content as outlined here: Implement a MyST parser for Nikola upstream#14 (comment)

• Thanks to the @2i2c-org/tech-team for another helpful discussion last week around team processes - I really appreciate everybody's willingness to share ideas and also where processes aren't working for them!

Updates from last week ✔

• I traveled back to the States from France and this derailed my working a little bit
• I re-worked a bunch of team process material in Update team meetings and deliverables workflow #188
• Had our first CSS sync with their team as well, lots of stuff to do to complete the transition but we are making progress!

What I'm up to next ➡️

• Continue working on the team workflow updates and cleaning up our deliverables board
• More administration with CSS to prepare our budgets etc for when the grants are transferred over

• I'm back and not traveling for the foreseeable future :-)

• I worked a lot on a personal project of building a Raspberry Pi 4 based k8s cluster that is meant to provide GitHub self hosted runners in the end. I have had lots to learn...

• I'd like to get that RPi setup running
• I'd like to unblock anyone working on jupyterhub PRs etc
